Richard Glade Smith, M.D.

Originally from Shelly, Idaho, R. Glade Smith, M.D. graduated from Brigham Young University as a member of the honors program with a B.S. in Zoology in 1973. He graduated from George Washington University Medical School in Washington D.C. in 1976 and continued there for surgical internship and general surgical residency from 1976 1982. During residency he did research on the total artificial heart. He completed his cardiothoracic surgery training at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City in 1984. He began private practice in Provo, Utah in 1984 and then in 1994 joined Cardiothoracic Surgeons of Grand Traverse.
