Munson Medical Center has opened its new Munson Heart Center consolidating cardiovascular services into one convenient location. This represents the culmination of several years of careful planning and heralds a new collaborative approach to cardiac care. Located above the new Munson Emergency Department, the Munson Heart Center is a state-of-the-art facility offering the highest level of cardiovascular care, as well as a healing environment for patients and their families. The Center includes a 30-bed cardiothoracic surgery unit and a 30-bed cardiology unit providing intensive care and post-interventional care. Both units feature acuity-adaptable private rooms where patients will remain, receiving the appropriate level of care as their needs change throughout their hospitalization. These rooms feature many patient and family amenities including a family area with sleeping accommodations, television, internet access, kitchenette and other services.
The Center also includes a 38-bed medical cardiology unit specializing in heart failure, noninvasive cardiology services and five cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology laboratories.
